Jacksonville Beach, FL Air Conditioning Repair & Service
Jacksonville Beach, FL History
Prior to European settlement, the Jacksonville Beach area was home to the Timucua people. The area’s settlement and development didn’t increase until the interest in creating a resort community grew in the early 1800s. Early settlers and services were located in tents, and the settlement went through several name changes during this time period.
Jacksonville Beach became the official name in 1925. Amusement parks were part of the community’s early history; although, many of the efforts to create them didn’t result in lasting sites. Today’s lone amusement park in the area is Adventure Landing.
